2 hours is not enough time in this car park.
There are several stores to visit. I shall be complaining
Officially to Colchester Council.
I Will be reporting this company for unreasonable
terms and conditions. Money spent in these stores should
be recognised as commitment. The stores should also take
interest in their customers..Clock watching while shopping
will definitely reduce visits. I am paying £50
begrudgingly. From a very disappointed customer,
of all the stores at this site who have shown
no respect or care for their customers

Just received a parking fine for exceeding 2hours in the car park. Parked here many times and never had a problem. This time I was shopping with my elderly mother (taking her out for a day she has dementia and it was supposed to be a treat) she spent over £100 in store and was having a lovely browse and trying on clothes. We then popped to Starbucks for lunch so you can see how easy it is to exceed 2hrs!! I certainly won't bother going there again.....??

Have also received a parking fine for exceeding the two hours. As with the comments below it’s easy to exceed this if you are making purchases as there are multiple stores and a coffee shop. There is also no means of extending this which is especially unfair. Has anyone been able to appeal this if they have proof they have shopped there? I certainly won’t be using this retail park again which is a shame as the town centre is already going downhill and I tend not to use unless I have to due to the parking.

Received today 14th Sept 2018 a parking fine of £50-£30 if you pay within 14 days for shopping in Matalan and going over the 2 hours parking limit I had no idea was in operation. What a joke. But on this occasion not a funny one. I will definitely not be shopping at Matalan or any of the other out lets here again, especially coming all the way from Clacton-On-Sea to do so.
How on earth can anyone be expected to shop in all these out lets and then maybe have a coffee in two hours. Just a complete rip off.

My wife has just received a parking charge from the owners who run this car park. She spent some time in matalan, also in Next, the store next door. As it was lunch time she visited starbucks for a coffee and sandwich. She was parked for two and a hours which we believe is not an unreasonable time. Now we find out two hours is the maximum permitted time for parking. This is a ridiculously short time for a retail park. In my view it is just a way of making money and ripping off the public. In view of this it is the stores loss as we WILL NOT be using these stores again and urge others to boycott this area until parking times are altered.

I also wish i give this a zero rating. My wife was seconds over the time and charged £30. £50 if you are brave enough to appeal and lose. My wife bought 18 items and spent a considerable amount of money at Matalan. No wonder so many people buy online now.

I would have given this 0 stars ... but that wasn't an option. I'm seriously annoyed that I've received a Parking Charge Notice because I took the liberty of spending more than two hours shopping at the Retail Park. I admit that there are only about 5-6 shops there but when you're shopping in Matalan on a Saturday, looking for stuff to take on holiday, trying things on, taking them back to get different sizes and then queueing forever because there's only a small amount of tills open ... it's really not helpful.
It says that these time limits are clearly marked and displayed well ... well, obviously not well enough seeing as I'm not the only one complaining about this here. Seriously unimpressed ... will put me off going back.
